Praying for Venezuela

Today in the PC(USA) Mission Yearbook we lift up the Presbyterian Church of Venezuela. Please take a moment to hold this church in prayer, and read the reflection on the church’s Life and Hope Ministry in Maracay by Pastor Josué Gómez Padilla and his wife Sigrid Álvarez. I was profoundly inspired by their work and the other church efforts in evangelism, education, and service that I have witnessed.

Please also keep the Venezuelan people and political leaders in your prayers; debates, accusations, and uncertainties around executive leadership continue while Hugo Chávez receives further medical treatment in Cuba, six weeks after his most recent cancer surgery.
