Checking in

Hello, friends, it’s been a while! Here’s a sampling of what’s been going on in the month since my last post:

  • I spent an awesome week in Lima with young environmentalists from Peru, Bolivia, and the U.S. It was energizing and inspiring enough to largely overshadow the uncomfortable memory of the 30+ hours the group from Bolivia spent on the bus each way.
  • I celebrated my first birthday in La Paz, had a lot of fun with new friends and still haven’t had a chance to respond to all the lovely messages friends and family have sent from afar!
  • Came to Colombia for the Colombia Mission Network meeting, the first time we’ve met in Colombia! Lots to be thankful for in this time, and it is so good to be back in Colombia again.

I have plans to post some more stories and photos from all these things in the near future, but I haven’t been sitting still long enough to do so! (well, except on the long bus rides, but that wasn’t an ideal writing environment…)

This is the beginning of two months away from Bolivia, with lots of good visits and sharing with partners in Colombia and Venezuela on the agenda. Please keep me and our church partners and other mission personnel in your thoughts and prayers, and stay in touch!
